PLYMOUTH - For the first time since 2015, LaVille and Plymouth met in girls high school basketball. As the two clubs opened the 2025-26 campaign, the two teams had some positive moments, had some stingy defense and made runs on offense before the Pilgrims came away with a 44-37 victory at Jack Edison court. LaVille senior Faith Mejer led all scorers with 17 second half points and a new career high. Mejer also added four rebounds and four steals. Denni Markin was the top Lancer with six boards and four assists. LHS trailed 21-15 before going on a 5-0 run to open the third quarter, closing the Plymouth lead to 21-20. But the Pilgrims held LaVille scoreless for nearly eight minutes to take a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter. Coach Nicholas Amor's club returns to the court on November 11 at #20 NorthWood as the Panthers open their season. The junior varsity is scheduled for a 6:15pm tip, with the varsity to follow.
