PERU, IN. - The LaVille varsity volleyball team is scheduled to participate in the Peru Invitational Saturday, August 13. The event is scheduled for Tig-Arena at 9 a.m. The Lancers will join Blackford, Carroll, Hamilton Heights, Huntington North, Lakeland Christian Academy, North Miami, Rensselaer Central and the host Tigers. POOL ASSIGNMENTS The Lancers will participate in Pool A with Blackford and Peru. Pool B will feature Huntington North, Hamilton Heights, and Rensselaer Central. Pool C will mix North Miami, Lakeland Christian Academy, and Carroll. PLACEMENT MATCHES There will be a 30 minute break after the last set before the Placement Round begins. Following two pool play matches, a placement round will be used to determine first through ninth place. The first-place team from Pool A, B and C will play each other for the outright champion. The second-place team from Pool A, B and C will square off for fourth through sixth place. The third-place team from Pool A, B and C meet for seventh through ninth place. SCORING The first two sets in a match will be played to 25 no cap. Third sets will be to 15 no cap. Winner must win by two points. Tie-Break criteria will be: *Head-to-head competition *Fewest Number of Sets Lost *Least Number of Defensive Points Allowed *Coin Toss OPENING/ADMISSION Doors open at 8 a.m. Admission will be $8 TRAVELING Travel time from LaVille to Peru Jr-Sr High School is approximately 51 minutes.
