Junior High Cross Country Picks up Two Wins This Week

LaVille Cross Country wrapped up the race week with two wins. On Tuesday the Lancers Traveled to North Judson for a meet with the Blue Jays, Culver, & North Judson. The Boys had some good competition but came home with the win as the only complete team. Luis Garcia won the race with a time of 12:55. Lucas Maenhout, Jace Janiak, & Carson Sherman also placed in the top ten (2nd, 4th, 7th). The girls ran against full Bluejay & Caveler Squads, and nearly pulled off a perfect score, with the top claiming 4 of the top 5 spots. Annie Tyler won the girls' race in 13:42. The Lancers had 6 more claim top 10 spots in the race of 29, Reagan Strang (2nd), Zahra Stackowicz (3rd), Sophie Edison(4th), Rory Endicott (7th) , Acelyn Christy (8th), & Kate Hulsey (9th). On Thursday the Lancers hosted Bremen and South Bend Career Academy and both squads pulled off two more wins over the Lions & Trailblazers. The teams ran a co-ed race Luis Garcia finished first overall and won the boys' race in 12:00, followed by top ten finishers, Lucas Maenhout (3rd), Jace Janiak (6th), Brody Foreman (8th), & Carson Sherman 10th out of 21. The girls were led by second-place finisher Annie Tyler (12:53) 4th overall out of 51. Tyler was joined in the girls top ten by Sophie Edison (4th), Reagan Strang (5th), Acelyn Christy (7th), Zarha Stackowicz (8th), & Kate Hulsey (9th). The teams will Race Carrer Academy, Argos, & Triton again next Thursday, the 21st, at 5 p.m. Scoring Recap Girls LaVille @ North Judson, with Culver & Oregon Davis Laville 1st 17 points OD 2nd 50 points North Judson 3rd 53 points Culver DNQ LaVille Boys had the only full team, and won by default.
