Thursday night, the Lancers traveled to Mishawaka to compete in the IHSAA Sectional #5 hosted by Penn High School. LaVille held its own against the South Bend and Mishawaka area schools, finishing 4th overall, and advancing six athletes to the Warsaw Regional next Thursday. Freshman thrower, Austin King, won the sectional crown at shot put and finished second in discus, continuing his season. The Dynamic Scoring Duo of Juniors Dylan Miller and Lance Edison are advancing in three events apiece. Konnor Amor & Hudson Rush will join them on the 1600M Relay, advancing off of a call back to expand the regional field to 16 participants. Senior Pole Vaulter, Ryan Maenhout, will also be joining the regional contenders. Despite not making it to the podium, the Lancers made their presence known with three more athletes finishing one spot out of contention: Freshman Long Jumper Liam Amor, Freshman 800M Runner Johnny Yoder, and Junior Sprinter Konnor Amor (100 & 200M). Field events are scheduled to begin at 6 pm. The cost of admittance is $10.
