WINAMAC, IN. – It is week four of the Indiana High School Athletic Association football regular season. And following a dominating 47-8 victory over Pioneer on September 2, Class 2A #5 LaVille travels to Winamac. The Lancers are on the back side of a three-game road schedule at Roudebush Field for a 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen on livestream through the NFHS Network -https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/schools/laville-high-school-lakeville-in LaVille continues its quest for its first-ever Hoosier North Athletic Confence championship in football as the season nears the midway point. The Lancers have won the last six straight meetings against the Warriors and lead the series 6-1 since 2010. The last Winamac victory came following a 33-3 decision on November 7, 2014. We had a chance to talk with LaVille Head Coach Will Hostrawser about the Pioneer game and the upcoming HNAC game at Winamac. Let’s tie up the performance against Pioneer.  So many positives from Week 3, talk about a couple guys you felt played well and are worth mentioning for their efforts either on offense or defense. COACH: Offensively, I thought Noah Richhart did a good job both catching passes, running the ball and blocking for others. He did all we asked him to do and then some. Defensively, I thought Michael Good gave us some solid minutes at outside linebacker. He has been finding his way into our line-up on both sides of the ball working hard in practice. His efforts on defense were noticeabl to our entire coaching staff at Pioneer. Talk about what impressed you about your team following the Pioneer game. COACH: Our guys do a great job staying focused on the big picture. While the score was lopsided against Pioneer, we all know there are numerous things we can improve on in practice. The team is not focused on what happened last game - they are locked in on the next opportunity and how to improve their collective performance this coming Friday. What will the Warriors bring offensively and who are a couple of Winamac players to watch. COACH: Winamac runs a double slot version of the winged "T" offense as well as some single wing I sets on offense. They also will throw the ball around a lot to keep your secondary honest. Quarterback Cash Roth, wide receiver Jayse Bentle and running backs Maddox Bucinski, Michael Loehmer and JAdon Jones all stood out on film. What will Winamac bring defensively and who are a couple of defensive players to watch? COACH: Defensively, Winamac runs a 4-3 and they run it very well. They play very aggressive and physical. Inside linebacker Talen Garner, defensive tackle Wyatt Wheeler and defensive end Zayne Bell are all solid players for Winamac. What concerns you about this Winamac football team Friday? COACH: Winamac has the ability to spread you thin on defense utilizing the entire field. We must sharpen up our pass defense a lot this week. Offensively, our running game must be able to sustain efficiency against their defensive pressure - to do so, we must be able to pick up their stunting linebackers consistently. What do you feel are important factors in deciding Friday's game against Winamac? COACH: We must play well in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The war at the line of scrimmage will determine this week's outcome.
