CULVER, IN. – LaVille Lady Hoops returns to the hardwood on Friday, November18. Coach Nicholas Amor’s Lancer squad will travel to Culver Academy for a non-conference game. The junior varsity is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m., with the varsity game to follow. LaVille is coming off a 49-9 victory against Trinity Greenlawn on Nov. 12. Heaylyn Kwiatkowski led all scorers with 14 points. Lucy Sherk added 12 points and six boards. Amor was able to get some quality minutes for his bench, with Brooke Edison, London Kwiatkowski, Quincy Blodgett, and freshman Ava Weil logging 11 minutes or more. Weil also scored her first varsity points on a field goal in the third quarter. With the victory over, LHS improved to 3-1 overall, winning its last three straight games. It is the best start to a season since the 2017-18 season. Culver Academy comes into the contest with a 4-2 overall record under second-year coach Bill Murchie. The Eagles are led by 5-foot-6 senior Dionna Craig and 5-11 senior Lena Spiller. Craig leads the Culver Academy offense at 13.7 points per game. She also adds 3.7 steals per contest. Spiller hits the boards for nearly six per game. Culver Academy leads the series 11-9 since 2001-02. The Lancers ended a three-game losing streak to the Eagles with a 28-27 victory last season.
