LAKEVILLE, IN. - It's a basketball night in Lakeville! LaVille Lady Hoops continues a busy week on Wednesday, November 30 as they play host to 1A No. 8 Triton. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 6 p.m. tip, with the varsity to follow inside Dale E. Cox Gymnasium. Senior Lucy Sherk led all scorers with 17 points, while the Lancers put eight players in the scoring column. A stingy LaVille defense limited the Cavemen to 29 total points, 15 points below their season average. Challenging passing lanes and 94 feet of defense forced Mishawaka into 30 turnovers and helped LHS collect 21 steals. The Lancer sniper attack was led by Brooke Edison and Mikalah Kuskye with four steals each. Lauren Edison and Heaylyn Kwiatkowski added three steals each as eight different Lancer players swiped a ball. The LaVille defense allows 26.7 points per outing, which is good for eighth in the state and third in Class 2A behind Eastern Hancock and Seeger. Heaylyn Kwiatkowski dished out five assists, Brooke Edison had eight boards, and London Kwiatkowski seven carroms. Triton is coming off a 51-24 victory over Trinity Greenlawn. Addyson Viers led the Trojan offense with 17 points. Kinsey Atkins and Jocelyn Faulkner added 13 points each and Jenna Bules chipped in with eight. Viers leads the THS offense with 17.4 points per game.  Atkins adds 12.1 ppg, and Faulkner 7.0 ppg. Viers, the 6-foot-2 junior, pulls down 11.3 rebounds a game, Faulkner averages 3.3 assists per game, and Atkins 3.9 steals a game. Triton averages 44.5 points per game, while the defense allows 34.5 points per outing. The Trojans lead the series 25-3 since 2000-01, with the teams playing in regular season, holiday tournament and TCU Bi-County Basketball Tournament over the years. While a handful of Hoosier North Athletic Conference teams have started the HNAC schedule, Wednesday's Triton at LaVille game will be the first loop game of the 2022-23 season for both teams. * * * * * G A M E D A Y Teams: 1A #8 Triton (7-1) at LaVille (5-2) Site: Dale E.
