GAMEDAY: Basketball Set For 91st Meeting With Bremen

BREMEN, IN. - The LaVille basketball team returns to the hardwood. The Lancers renew their rivalry with Bremen on a special edition of Thursday night hoops. LaVille makes the short trek east on Hwy 6 for the 91st meeting in the series. The Lions lead the Lancers, 49-41. BHS has won the last two straight, but LaVille has won eight of the last 10. A year ago, Bremen jumped to a 16-2 lead after the first quarter en route to a 68-40 victory in Lakeville. Bremen's Carson Miller led all scorers with 28 points and Dawson Hickman added 11. Lucas Plummer led the Lancer offense with 15 points and Collin Czarnecki 12 in the loss. Coach Michael Edison's club is coming off a 40-30 loss to Tippecanoe Valley. LaVille led 18-15 at halftime, but were outscored 25-12 in the second half. Collin Czarnecki scored 15 points and Owen Smith seven for LHS. LaVille is 15-5 against Bremen during Edison's tenure as head basketball coach. Bremen is 0-1 after a 46-30 setback to Argos. Baylor Orcutt, Julian Alvarado, and AJ Ton led the Lion offense. Orcutt had 11 points, Alvarado eight, and Ton seven.
