WINAMAC, IN. - LaVille Lady Hoops returns to the hardwood for a Friday night girl-boy varsity doubleheader. The Lancers are set to face Hoosier North Athletic Conference foe Winamac at 6:30 p.m. The varsity boys game will follow at Winamac High School. Coach Nicholas Amor's squad is 7-2 overall and coming off a 50-32 non-conference victory at South Bend Clay on December 3. Senior Lucy Sherk tallied a career-high 21 points to lead the LHS offense. Heaylyn Kwiatkowski had 14 and Brooke Edison chipped in with nine for LaVille. With the victory, Amor's club has won four straight and look to break a four-game losing streak to the Warriors. Coach Tony Stesiak's team is 1-9 overall and coming off a 48-40 loss to Rensselaer Central on December 1. WHS was led by Kandace Kroft with 20 points and eight rebounds. Emma Goodman added 13 points and Piper Link had eight rebounds. Kroft leads the Warriors with 10.2 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per outing. Maggie Smith, Chloe Rausch, and Goodman all chip in with about four points per game each. Smith packs the stat box by adding rebounds, steals, and assists each game. Winamac leads the series, 6-1, since 2000-01. The only Lancer victory during the last 22 years was a 46-36 triumph on December 8, 2017.
