LAKEVILLE, IN. - Following the conclusion of the high school football season, the Indiana Football Coaches Association gathers together to nominate and vote on its annual list of IFCA All-State picks on offense, defense and special teams. Following a successful and record-breaking 10-1 season, four LaVille football players were selected as first-team all-state selections. Two earned Class 2A Senior All-State accolades - offensive lineman Adam 'AJ' Bedock and linebacker Noah Richhart. Joining the Class 2A Junior All-State group were the junior duo of offensive lineman Erik Bedock and punter Lucas Plummer. The Junior All-State list can include underclassmen. "When I found out about being selected to the All-State team I was very excited," said Richhart. "It’s a very prestigious honor and to be recognized by coaches all around the state is a huge honor." Richhart finished the season with 81 total tackles and earned the Hoosier North Athletic Conference Most Valuable Defensive Player. "Being selected as an All-State football player means that you are one of the best football players in your position around the entire state of Indiana," continued the 5-foot-10, 200-pound linebacker. "More specifically to me, being selected as an All-State player shows that all of the hard work I put in during the season and off-season has paid off. " According to Richhart, he has played football for 10 years and has been a versatile player with experience at several positions. "I’ve played Linebacker my whole career," Richhart explained. "I’ve also played running back, fullback, quarterback, and even O-line throughout my career." For his career, Richhart finished with 269 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss. He also totaled 790 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Richhart points to the 2022 HNAC game against North Judson-San Pierre as most memorable. "My most memorable game would have to be our game against North Judson this season. It was senior night, game of the week, and really a rivalry game. The environment at that game was something I’ve never experienced before. The bleachers on both sides of the stadium were packed to the brim with fans. For me to score the game winning touchdown in overtime of that game is something I will never forget. Having my brothers carry me across that goal line for that touchdown was incredible. The team rushing the field after the score and the fans going crazy was unforgettable." Following a 21-21 tie to end regulation of that October 7 HNAC battle at Lancer Field, Richhart got the first carry to open LaVille's possession in the extra session. It appeared that Richhart would get a modest five yard gain, but as the Lancer back seemed to vanish in a sea of humanity, the pile kept moving and the whistle never blew. The end result was Richhart being pushed across the goal line for the game-winning touchdown that sent LaVille football and all of Lancer Nation into a frenzy. "I’d like to thank my coaches for always being supportive and helping me get to where I am," concluded Richhart, who plans to study computer sciences at a yet to be determined college. "None of this would have been possible without them. I’d also like to thank my teammates for four unforgettable years of football." Bedock earned his second all-state accolade. He was selected last season for the Junior All-State team. "I was very excited and relieved," said Bedock. "Being selected was one of my goals this past season and to achieve it was amazing! Especially since I was selected last year for Jr. All-State . . . had to prove to myself that it wasn’t a fluke." According to Bedock, who has played right guard and defensive tackle during his career, the selection is special. "It means a lot to me. To be selected and listed with some of the top guys in 2A is very encouraging and humbling. Definitely is a great honor!" He, too, felt the game against North Judson-San Pierre was a memorable moment. "There are a lot of memories," explained the 6-2, 270-pound senior. "One of my favorites were destroying Pioneer in the Sectional Championship last season. My favorite, I think, is when we beat NJSP in OT this past season by pushing Richhart into the endzone. That was something special!" Bedock also takes with him plenty of moments to remember. "Thank you Coaches, Teammates, Family, Friends, and LaVille Football for such great memories and life experiences," concluded Bedock, who has played football since he was six years old. "That, I will cherish forever!" AJ Bedock, Noah Richhart, Lucas Plummer, and Erik Bedock, AJ's brother, are just a small part of a group of young men that played a huge role in, Want More. Do More. Get More, in 2022 for LaVille Football. Congratulations on a job well done!
