LAKEVILLE, IN. - LaVille Lady Hoops returns to the hardwood for a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game against Caston. Coach Nicholas Amor's squad will play host to HNAC leader Class 1A No. 2 Caston. The Comets are 17-0 overall and 6-0 in HNAC play. A win Saturday against the Lancers can provide CHS the conference championship outright and first-ever girls basketball conference title. "Caston is a very good team that has multiple options to score every night," said Amor. "They also are very physical defensively and are able to Pressure teams. In order to be successful against them we will need to handle the pressure well, we will need to rebound well, and be locked in defensively. The junior varsity game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. tip, with the varsity game to follow inside Cox Gymnasium. Caston enters the contest with a 17-game winning streak and has won the last three straight in the series with LaVille. The last LaVille victory in the series came following a 41-34 win on January 5, 2019, at LaVille. Isabel Scales leads the Comet offense with a 17.2 point per game average. Addison Zimpleman adds 11.2 ppg and Bailey Harness chips in 9.4 ppg. LaVille is coming off a 66-25 victory over Career Academy South Bend.  Lucy Sherk scored a career-high 24 points, while Heaylyn Kwiatkowski added 18 points. Saturday's contest with Caston will be the first of three straight HNAC games for Amor's club. LHS is set to face North Judson-San Pierre on January 10 before a Jan. 13 meeting at Knox. Game on . . .
