LAKEVILLE, IN. - It's a basketball night in Lakeville! It has been eight years since Argos and LaVille have met in the TCU Bi-County Basketball Tournament. The two squads have played over 20 times since the 2000-01 season with neither of the teams controlling the series. The series is tied 13-13 since 2000-01, with the squads playing in the regular season and the TCU Bi-County Tournament. Argos won the last TCU Bi-County game 47-38 in the consolation round of the 2015 event. This season, the Dragons are 10-9 overall and coming off a thrilling 38-33 win over Culver Community. It was the fourth victory in the last five outings for Argos. "Argos has been playing really well as of late,"said LaVille coach Nicholas Amor. "They have two key players in number 20 (Emma) Dunlap and number 10 (Samantha) Reddinger. Both are good shooters when set and open, and Reddinger really attacks baseline while Dunlap attacks middle. They do a good job of driving and kicking to find open looks." LaVille relied heavily on its defense in the 47-28 first-round win over Oregon-Davis. Amor's crew continues to be ranked among the best in the state on defense, currently sitting at No. 10 in Indiana and among the best in Class 2A. "I felt Mikalah (Kuskye) and Brooke (Edison) were really our spark in that game," said Amor of his underclass guards. "Brooke got a couple layups to go into halftime and then we came out strong offensively. Defensively I felt we played well the entire game with the exception of a few middle drives. We have to carry that momentum both offensively and defensively into the game tonight. Argos will look to zone and we have to be able to attack gaps and finish at the rim. We can't sit back and settle for threes and defensively. We have to maintain pressure without fouling." Seniors Lucy Sherk and Heayleyn Kwiatkowski continue to lead the Lancer offense, but Amor has witnessed offensive growth in several other players on the varsity roster. This will be the 27th meeting since 2000-02 between the Dragons and Lancers. LaVille leads the series 8-4 in games played inside Cox Gymnasium since 2000-01. LHS and AHS have met one time since 2000-01 for the right to advance to the 2023 TCU Bi-County Basketball championship game. The winner punches its ticket to the finale and draws closer to a tournament title. Game on . . . G A M E D A Y Teams: Argos (10-9) at LaVille (13-6) Site: Dale E.
