LAKEVILLE, IN. – LaVille Lady Hoops returns to the hardwood! Coach Nicholas Amor's club returns to the court following a 43-40 TCU Bi-County championship victory over Bremen just five days ago. The Lancers take a 15-6 overall record into the rematch against Argos. A two-quarter junior varsity game is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m., with the varsity to follow. LHS defeated the Dragons 49-41 in the TCU semifinal on January 19 at Cox Gymnasium. LaVille's Lucy Sherk was a co-leading scorer with 17 points, while Heaylyn Kwiatkowski had 13 in the January 19 contest. Mikalah Kuskye added seven points and Lily Smith six for LaVille. Emma Dunlap led the Dragon offense with 17 points to share game-high honors with Sherk. Samantha Redinger tossed in 12 points for AHS. "We played them last week," said Amor. "We learned that number 20 (Emma Dunlap) and number 10 (Samantha Redinger) are good shooters and we need to find them in transition. We have to continue to play solid defense. Offensively we need to be in attack mode and continue to finish well at the rim." Amor's squad looks to continue the momentum heading into the final week of the season with a pair of games. Following the Argos match-up, the Lancers close out the regular season at Culver Community for a crucial Hoosier North Athletic Conference contest. LaVille sits at 3-3 in the HNAC, while the Cavaliers are one game behind at 2-4. Caston secured the 2022-23 HNAC girls basketball title with a 7-0 record. Argos and LaVille have played over 20 times since the 2000-01 season with neither of the teams controlling the series. LaVIlle leads the series 14-13 since 2000-01. The Dragons have won eight of 11 times in games played at Argos High School. Seniors Lucy Sherk and Heayleyn Kwiatkowski continue to lead the Lancer offense, but Amor has witnessed offensive growth in several other players on the varsity roster as the season has progressed. Argos gets back on the court with a 10-10 mark after its semifinal game at LaVille on January 19.
