CULVER, IN. - It's a basketball night for LaVille Lady Hoops. As 16-6 LHS prepares for the end of the 2022-23 regular season at Culver Community, and to check another box off the goal sheet to start the season. It is also the final Hoosier North Athletic Conference game for both the Lancers and Cavaliers. LaVille is 3-3 in HNAC play, while Culver is 2-4. Coach Nicholas Amor's club is on the doorstep to the winningest season since 2017-18 and 2009-10. LaVille has won 16 games so far in Amor's debut season as the Lancer head coach. Both the 2017-18 and 2009-10 teams finished 16-8 overall. LaVille is coming off a hard-earned 38-33 victory at Argos on January 26. The Lancers trailed 10-7 to close the first quarter and 18-17 at halftime before outscoring the Dragons 14-8 in a decisive third quarter. Five LaVille players hit the scorebook during the quarter, including a big offensive rebound by Quincy Blodgett and a crucial 3-pointer by Mikalah Kuskye. Heaylyn Kwiatkowski led all scorers with 14 points. Brooke Edison came off the bench to score nine points. Kuskye had six and Lucy Sherk chipped in with five. LaVille's defense continues to be one of the best in the state, allowing 31 points per game. LHS is 9-1 when limiting the opposition to 31 points or less. Culver Community is 10-11 overall following a  47-39 win over West Central on January 26. The Cavs average 41 points per game, while allowing 38 points per outing.
