Tennis Headed To Plymouth Invitational

PLYMOUTH, IN. - The girls tennis team is set to participate in the Plymouth Invitational on Saturday, April 15. LaVille will join seven other schools, including state-ranked Crown Point, Fairfield, Peru and the host Pilgrims. All the action will serve up on 10 courts at Centennial Park in Plymouth beginning at 9:30 a.m. Others scheduled to participate are Kankakee Valley, Tippecanoe Valley and Triton. The tournament play will be No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles, along with No. 1 doubles and No. 2 doubles. Each position will play 3 matches until the entire bracket is played out. The main draw will play two out of three sets with a super tie-breaker (first to 10, win by 2) for the 3rd set. On the back side of the draw, along with third, fourth, seventh and eighth places, players will play two mini-sets to 4 (tiebreaker (first to 7, win by 2) at 3-3). If the players split the mini-sets, then a super-tiebreaker (first to 10, win by 2), will be played for the match. The draws will be made upon arrival of the field of teams. The following points will be earned throughout the tournament - 8 pts. for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, 3 for 5th, 2 for 6th, 1 for 7th and 0 for 8th. A trophy will be presented to the winning team.
