Lancer Field Events Advance at Girls’ Track Sectional The Lady Lancer Track team traveled to Mishawaka High School in hopes of continuing their season in the first round of the state tournament. Several Lancers competed well, finishing the season with a personal best, but following the season’s precedent, relays and field events were a high point for the squad. The evening started off with a seventh place finish by the 4x800M Relay team of Myra Garcia, Macie Edwards, Mikalah Kuskye, and Ragan Wagoner (12:14.45)]. LaVille put points on the board again with an eighth place finish by the 4x100M Relay team of Ava Miller, Madison Singleton, Mackena Deason, and Lily Smith (54.77). Field events would be the highlight for the Lancers. Sophomore Moriah Richhart finished the night with a new personal best in shot put landing her in 4th place with a toss of 33’6.25. Richhart’s effort should be good enough to advance her to next week’s competition as part of the top 16. Lucy Sherk finished fifth in the discus, but her true highlight was her 37’11.5” shot put toss that secured her spot as a three-time Sectional Champion and Regional Qualifier. Brooke Edison’s 4’10” high jump attempt landed her in a three-way tie for second place punching her ticket to Goshen next week. The Goshen Regional begins at 6pm. 2023 IHSAA TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS Girls Results Team Scores 1. Penn 137.3, 2.
