NAPPANEE, IN. – The LaVille Girls Golf team opened the 2022 season at the NorthWood Invitational. LaVille, led by senior Elle Lemberis, finished 15th of the 18 teams in a field of 82 total golfers. Lemberis closed her 18-hole round with a 104, cutting six strokes off her score from a year ago at McCormick Creek. Senior Gabby Roper made the largest improvement, dropping 11 strokes off her score from last season at McCormick, finishing with a 132. Jorryn Zellers, also a senior, improved as well from the last time at McCormick Creek, helping LaVille cut 15 strokes overall off the 2021 visit to Nappanee, closing with a 523 this season. The Penn Black team was the overall champion, carding a 326 to take team honors. Penn’s Delaney Wade earned medalist honors, carding a three-over-par 75.
