LAVILLE ATHLETIC WRAP-UP Tuesday, August 15 JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL Liam Amor scored a pair of touchdowns as the seventh grade football team picked up a 12-0 victory over Urey.Amor was on the receiving end of a touchdown pass from Colten Schwitz.  Amor also returned a punt for a TD.Keenan Richhart scored a touchdown in the eighth grade 36-6 loss to the Falcons.The junior high football team is scheduled to play host to rival Bremen for a non-conference game on Tuesday, August 22 at 5 p.m.  * * * * * * * VARSITY BOYS SOCCER LaVille opened the 2023 season with a match against non-conference foe Granger Christian. The Knights scored one goal in the first half and three in the second half in a 4-0 defeat over the Lancers. Every point was crucial as the two teams battled in a five-set nail-biter.  The host Eagles came away with a 28-26, 22-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-13 outcome. Elaina Borton led in serving and defense, collecting eight aces and picking up 13 digs.  Kate Aschenbrenner had 10 assists and Ava Fuchs 11 kills. "A phenomenal match," said Gring. "Excellent teamwork! And, Caitlyn Goffinet and Moriah Richhart rounded out the effort!" LaVille returns to action August 16 in a rivalry match at John Glenn.  The junior varsity is set to start at 6pm. In the JV match, ECA defeated the Lancers, 22-25, 25-15, 15-4.
