ELKHART - LaVille opened the Indiana Northern Conference with a 37-21 victory at Jimtown Thursday in high school girls basketball. The INSC rivals battled to a 12-12 halftime tie before the Lancers were able to pull away. Coach Nicholas Amor's club outscored the Jimmies 25-9 in the second half to pick up the conference victory and its first' W' of the season. Senior Faith Mejer led all scorers with a new career-high 20 points to go with nine rebounds and five steals. Denni Markin added eight points and eight boards, while Ava Weil chipped in with seven points. LHS returns to action on November 21 at Tippecanoe Valley. The JV is scheduled for a 6pm tip, followed by varsity.
