LAKEVILLE - For just the second time since 1985, the Westview Warriors visit LaVille in an early-season showdown. Westview is 1-1 so far this season and are coming off a 68-56 loss at Northridge on December 1. The Warriors, who start #17 in the USA preseason poll, finished up a 18-8 overall campaign a year ago, including a sectional championship victory against Central Noble.  The WHS season ended by a 56-40 win by Jimtown in the IHSAA Regional. Coach Chandler Prible's club leads the series 8-1 since 1985 and have never lost in Lakeville at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium. "Westview is always very well coached," said LaVille coach Michael Edison.  "They have 2 really good players, but all of their players can pass, catch, and shoot very well.  They will be one of the tougher games we play this year." LaVille is 1-0 entering GAMEDAY and finished 15-9 last season.  Edison's club is coming off a 58-49 victory over Westville on November 26. We had a chance to chat with coach Edison following the Westville game and heading into Tuesday's game against the Warriors. "We did some good things against Westville, but we have a long way to go, especially against a team like Westview, which we play tonight," said the 18th-year skipper.  "Westview is always very well coached.  They have 2 really good players, but all of their players can pass, catch, and shoot very well.  They will be one of the tougher games we play this year." Coach Edison says his crew, "must challenge their shooters and force them to take contested shots, we must play solid half court defense, and we must limit our turnovers in order to have a chance against Westview."
