ARGOS - LaVille is set to travel to longtime rival Argos on December 9.  The junior varsity is scheduled for a 6pm tip, with the varsity game to follow. The Dragons are 0-3 following a 80-21 loss at West Central on December 5. Mekhi Austin led the Dragons in scoring with 17 points, while also grabbing six boards. Coach Nick Kindig's team leads the all-time series, 64-57.  LaVille has won the last four straight games and are 7-3 against AHS in the last 10 games. "Argos will run mainly zone defense, and they are still trying to find their identity on offense," said LaVille coach Michael Edison. "They are down a little this year." LaVille is 2-1 overall after a 47-35 victory at rival John Glenn December 5.  Junior Lance Edison scored a game-high 24 points. Since taking over in Lakeville in 2008-09, coach Edison is 12-9 against Argos, but is 3-5 overall in games played at Phil Weybright Gym. "Phil Weybright gymnasium is a neat place to play, but over the years it has been difficult at times," noted the Lancer boss when asked about challenges while playing in the gym after the longtime Argos coach.  "We are hoping to have a good showing tonight and we must handle the zone and do our best to break it down from the inside out." Argos Community Schools renamed the gymnasium on January 5, 2008, prior to a regular season game against Tippecanoe Valley. "We must execute on offense, share the ball and make the extra pass, and play an up-tempo game," said coach Edison about keys to a Lancer victory. Argos enters the game averaging nearly 25 points per game and is looking to get things going on offense. LaVille, meanwhile, averaged 46 points per game, while Edison's club allows 48 points per outing. LHS comes into the contest looking to extend its current winning streak to five straight over Argos.
