LAKEVILLE - Following a hard-fought defensive game Wednesday against South Bend Riley, LaVille Lady Hoops makes a quick return to the court. Class 3A #14 Culver Academy is set to visit Dale E. Cox Gymnasium Thursday, December 18. The junior varsity game is scheduled for a 6pm tip, with the varsity game to follow. The Eagles are 11-4 overall following a 39-35 loss to 2A #7 Bremen on December 16. Freshman Laine Lyles led CGA with 19 points and 6 rebounds.  Amelia Binkley had 8 points and 10 boards, while Piper Brumm added 10 caroms. Lyles leads the offense with 14.4 points per game, while Brumm adds 8.7, and Mimi Smith 7.7.  Brumm, Katie Clemons, and Lyles are the lead rebounders.  Culver Academy averages 51.3 points per game while allowing 34.3.  The Eagles are 8-1 when scoring 51 points or more. LaVille is 4-7 after a thrilling 47-45 win over South Bend Riley.  It was a defensive game, where the lead changed hands nine times.  The Lancers rallied from a seven point deficit with 5:19 left in the final quarter.  Coach Nicholas Amor's club picked up the defensive intensity, forcing four straight turnovers over a just short of 4 minutes.  The sniper attack was led by Ava Weil and Morgan Schmidt during a 47-45 win over the Wildcats. Amor's crew is averaging 36.0 ppg, while giving up 43.3.  LaVille is 4-3 overall when scoring 36 points or more points. This is the second of three straight home games to close out the 2025 portion of the schedule.  LaVille opened the week with a 47-45 win over South Bend Riley, tonight GAMEDAY will be at the Academy-LaVille contest, then the ladies will finish up Saturday, December 20 with North Miami.
