LAKEVILLE - LaVille closed out the 2025 portion of the high school girls basketball schedule against non-conference foe North Miami. The Lancers were playing short-handed Saturday as starters Ava Weil and Denni Markin were unavailable for action. Depth and a strong second half by the visitors helped North Miami to a 59-33 victory at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium. Coach Nicholas Amor's club fought, keeping the close, trailing by four at the end of the first quarter and just 23-18 at the intermission. On the strength of long range shooting and a 19-9 advantage in the third, the visiting Warriors took a 42-27 lead to the final period. North Miami's Kayden Donaldson led all scorers with 21 points, tallying points in each quarter. Grace Sailors produced double figures with 10 points. Faith Mejer led the Lancers with 17 points, while Madi Singleton added 10 and Bella Higley collected a career-high five points. Amor's crew will take some time off during the holiday break before returning to action at Lakeland Christian Academy December 8.
