LAKEVILLE - It's a football night in Lakeville! LaVille returns home to open the Hoosier North Athletic Conference with rival Triton. The Trojans come into week two with a 1-0 overall record and eager to challenge the defending HNAC champions. "Practice this week has been good," Lancer coach Jeff Kaiser said when asked how practice has gone following the 17-10 victory at Bremen to open the season. "The guys seem focused and hungry for more." As LHS puts the opener behind and proceeds to the next task, Kaiser talked about the Lancer effort. "We were impressed with how the team responded to adversity throughout the game and that is a big factor with new starters and the first game of the year," said Kaiser. "Defensively we shut down their run game and made a few plays in their passing game. Offensively we put points on the board early and got some key first downs late in the game when we needed them." The next five weeks will be against conference opposition, so Kaiser knows his club will need to be prepared. "The HNAC is going to be extremely competitive week in and week out as always, so beating Triton will get off to a good start and a quality win over a solid opponent," explained Kaiser. "Home opener, defending our HNAC championship, we hope to pack the place and make sure our fans and student body are loud and proud!! GO BLUE!!" To go along with these three players is Donte Workman, who is their top receiver . . . Defensively they are led upfront by Esai Lemler, Kohen Hensley and Reichert lead the LB core and then Shively and Workman as leading DB's. They get to the football in a hurry and play with a lot of emotion . . . Triton has a new coach in Coach Zach Whittaker and those guys believe in what they are doing. They play with a tremendous amount of confidence which we see consistently on film. We must contain #2 and slow their running game down. If we play physical and limit mistakes, we will be successful." – Jeff Kaiser, LaVille head football coach BROADCAST/LIVE STREAM: The LaVille game can be seen and heard on LVH1.
