Mejer, McQueen Lead Lady Hoops In Battle Against 1A #5 ECA

LAKEVILLE - LaVille put forth a solid challenge before giving way to a 60-43 setback to 1A #5 Elkhart Christian Academy Saturday. The Lancers and Eagles battled back and forth for much of the first half before ECA took a 25-18 lead at intermission. Seniors Faith Majer, Denni Markin, and Madi Singleton, along with Ava Weil and Morgan Schmidt helped keep LHS close. Elkhart Christian, however, was able to connect from deep and in transition to pull away.The Eagles canned four 3-pointers and hit 7 of 10 free throws in outscoring the Lancers 35-25 in the second half. Mejer led LaVille with 15 points and six rebounds. Lexi McQueen came off the bench to add a career high 11 points. Markin chipped in with nine boards, and Weil and Schmidt had three assists each. LaVille will take a 6-11 overall record into the 61st everwise Bi-County basketball tournament week. The Lancers open event play against Triton on January 20, 2026. LaVille is set to play host to a girl-boy doubleheader beginning at 6pm.
