LAKEVILLE - GAMEDAY is set for the third day of the 61st everwise Bi-County Basketball Tournament in just a few hours. Thursday featured two very competitive games during the Ladies Night edition. John Glenn dodged overtime in a 42-40 victory over Oregon-Davis. The Bobcats missed a shot at the buzzer that would have sent the game into extra time.  In the nightcap, Bremen outlasted the host Lancers, 45-35. The Lancers were the clear underdog against the 2A #6 Lions, but the hosts played inspired basketball until a 13-2 burst in the third quarter proved a crucial separation point. Tonight the gentlemen take center stage as Culver Community takes on Oregon-Davis in the first semifinal at 6:30pm, then 2A #9 Bremen tangles with 1A #7 Triton.  The two rivals come in with a 21-2 combined record and play in the nightcap. The Consolation round starts with John Glenn v Argos before New Prairie tangles with the host Lancers. Following a tough 66-45 setback to the Trojans on January 20, LaVille looks to start get back on track against a very good New Prairie team. "New Prairie has an extremely tough schedule," said LaVille coach Michael Edison of the Cougars. "They played Bremen very tough and only lost by three points. They've got a couple of nice younger players that have been fitting well into their system since the Wiggins kid went down with a knee injury.  They run some very nice offensive sets and play very well together.  They will be a tough opponent for us tonight."
