LANCER DIGEST - Aug. 29, 2023 JUNIOR HIGH FOOTBALL The LaVille Junior High School 'A' football team picked up a 22-20 victory over Triton. DeMarrion McThune was on the receiving end of Griffen Smith's touchdown pass. Kennan Richhart and Josh Price reached the end zone for the Lancers. Quinton Bollenbacher added two extra points. In the 'B' game, Liam Amor had two touchdowns. Amor caught a TD pass from Colten Schwitz and crossed the goal line running the football. Elijah Dickirson also scored a touchdown. LaVille returns to the field September 2 for a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game at Pioneer.  Kick is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL The 7th grade volleyball team defeated Career Academy of South Bend in two sets. Kenzie Foster led in serving with 15 points (12 aces) followed by Rozz Woolridge with 14 points (11 aces) and Bella Higley with 7 points (6 aces). Savannah Wagner led in passing with 4. Kenzie Foster and Savannah Wagner each had a hit. In Monday's Hoosier North Athletic Conference action, the 7th grade won in three sets. Stat leaders were Bella Higley serving with 8 points (7 aces), followed by Violet Wheeler with 7 points (5 aces), and Rozz Woolridge with 5 points (1 ace). Savannah Wagner and Violet Wheeler were the top passers with 7 each. Bella Higley and Savannah Wagner each had a hit and Abby Nace collected a kill. BOYS SOCCER Kaiden Cundiff scored a pair of goals for LaVille in an 8-2 loss at Argos. Ryan Maenhout collected 14 saves for LHS in goal. The Lancers return to the pitch for five consecutive home matches. Oregon-Davis is set to start the homestand on September 5 at 5:30 p.m.  Kick is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start.
