LAKEVILLE - One of the longest rivalries since consolidation, LaVille is set to renew its lengthy series with Bremen. GAMEDAY heads to Dale E. Cox Gymnasium for the 90th meeting all-time between the Lancers and the Lions. BHS leads the all-time series 49-40, including conference, everwise Bi-County Tournament, non-conference, and IHSAA state tournament games. Coach Matt Miller's team comes to Lakeville with a record-breaking year so far at 13-0. Miller's 2025-26 group are coming off a 58-26 everwise Bi-County basketball championship victory over Culver Community, and a Class 2A #7 ranking in the latest USA rankings. Bremen is led by Chase Devine at 21.2 points, Riley Tener at 10.1, and Bryce Miller with 9.5 ppg. The Lions average 57.6 points per game and allow 36.8 per outing.  BHS is 7-0 when scoring 58 points or more so far this season. On defense, BHS has also held five opponents at least 36 points or less. "Bremen is very talented on both ends of the court," said LaVille coach Michael Edison. "They have several weapons on offense so it is not like a team can just key on their best player, (Chae) Devine.  Not only do they have good outside shooting, but Riley) Tener is a very good post player, one of the better ones we will see this year." In a two-way tie, with Jimtown, for the Indiana Northern State Conference lead with a 3-0 record so far, Bremen is looking to grab a conference title for the first time since 2009.  LaVille is just one game behind both the Lions and the Jimmies, a win for the Lancers would keep give in the running for a shot at sharing the INSC title. Jimtown at Bremen meet February 13 being the final game for all the loop teams. LHS will have Tippecanoe Valley on February 13. "We have already lost to Jimtown in the conference so with this being a conference game, we want to try to perform our best," Edison said when asked about the INSC standings.  "There is really nothing new that we need to do against Bremen than what we need to do against every team we play. We need to take high percentage shots and take care of the ball." Since January 1, Edison's crew has held its own, including against some pretty good competition. "Our guys have definitely battled in each game," said the Lancer boss.  "We just need to focus on playing 32 minutes strong.  We always are focused on getting a little better as each game approaches." LaVille is 7-3 overall since the start of the new year, with two losses by five total points and a non-conference loss to state-ranked Triton. Let's play INSC basketball ...
