After a day's delay to enjoy a 20-degree jump in temperatures, the boys' track team kicked off the 25-26 season at Culver Academies on Wednesday. The 2025 point leaders, Lance Edison and Dylan Miller, made their presence known and picked up where they left off, leading scoring in the season opener on Wednesday night. Edison picked up a blue ribbon at the High Jump pit and a pair of second-place finishes in both the 100M & 300M Hurdles. Miller finished the night with a blue ribbon at long jump, and second place finishes in both the 100 & 800M Races. Freshmen Austin King & Luis Garcia contributed to the scoring effort by placing in two events apiece. The strong presence in field events was not enough to beat out Culver in the end. The Lancers will visit INSC foe Jimtown on Tuesday with a triangular match-up with South Bend Career Academy. Field events are slated to begin at 5:30.
