VALPARAISO - LaVille softball traveled to Morgan Township for a non-conference game Friday night. The Lancers outhit Morgan 14-13, but could't push enough runs across the plate in suffering a 14-7 setback in Valparaiso. LHS got off to a good start, taking a 6-2 lead heading into the bottom of the second. The turning point ultimately came when the hosts sent 13 batters to the plate, scoring nine fateful runs in the bottom of the second to take a 11-6 lead. LaVille could not recover after suffering its second straight loss. Lancer second baseman Faith Mejer continued her strong start to the season, going 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and triple. Lexis Owens and Grace McBride added two hits each. LaVille (1-2) returns to action April 13 against South Bend Washington. The first pitch is set for 5:30pm at Newton Park.
