LAKEVILLE - After an exciting 2025 high school boys track and field season, LaVille is set to continue to build for the 2026 campaign. Veteran Kathe Beehler returns for her 17th season as coach of the Lancers and is excited about her team. "I am excited to get the 2026 track season underway!," Beehler said. "We’ve got some boys who are looking to build on their performances from last season. We’ve also got some newcomers that are looking to make meaningful contributions to our success this season!" Among the key returnees are Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) regional qualifiers Lance Edison (300H), Ryan Maenhout (pole vault), and Dylan Miller (long jump). The 4X400 relay unit returns three of its four participants - Edison, Maenhout, and Miller - in hopes of continued success. Bringing home Indiana Northern State Conference championships were Edison (300H), Maenhout (PV), and Miller (LJ). "We have a lot of returning letter winners from last year," explained Beehler, who will be assisted by JT Beehler, Larry Hough, Bill Hulsey , Jonah Lester, Michael Good. "Seniors Ryan Maenhout (pole vault-mid sprints), Brock Gest (hurdles), Isaac Beelby (mid distance). Juniors Dylan Miller (LJ and sprints as well as relays), Lance Edison (HJ, 300H as well as relays), Konnor Amor (sprints), Madden Brown (pv), sophomore Hudson Rush (sprints)." Field events have been a strength for Lancer track and field, and that will be no different this season. LHS will be led by Edison (HJ), Maenhout (PV), Miller (LJ), and Keenan Richhart (throws). We had the chance to ask Coach Beehler about key newcomers to the team. "We added freshmen Austin King in throws, Luis Garcia in distance, Sylas Holderman in hurdles, and Johnny Yoder high jump and sprints." LaVille made a solid run in the INSC Championships a year ago, but were nipped by Bremen. But according to the Lancer coach, "we hoping to make a run at the conference title." The Lancers finished second in the conference championships in 2025. Beehler is now "looking forward to seeing everyone's hard work in practice transfer to competing in meets." LaVille opened the season against Culver Academy. The Lancers fought valiantly before giving way to the Eagles. The next LaVille track and field meet will be April 16 against St. Thomas More Academy and Lakeland Christian. The event is set to begin at 5:30pm at LaVille. 2026 LaVille Boys Track & Field Schedule April 8 @ Culver Academy, L, 96-36 April 14 @ Jimtown w/ Trinity Academy April 16 v St. Thomas More Academy w/ Lakeland Christian, 530pm April 17 @ The Classic Mishawaka, 6pm April 20 v Bremen/Trinity Academy, 5pm April 23 @ Triton w/ Knox, 530pm April 28 v Winamac w/ Career Academy South Bend, 6pm May 1 v Lancer Relays (w/ Bethany Christian, Fairfield, Hobart, John Glenn, Michigan City), 530pm May 8 @ Dennis Rippy Invitational (John Glenn), 530pm May 13 v INSC Championships, 5pm May 21 @ IHSAA Sectional (Penn HS), TBA May 28 @ IHSAA Regional (Warsaw HS), TBA June 6 @ IHSAA State Championships (Indpls North Central HS), TBA
