LAKEVILLE - LaVille used two innings to do the most damage in picking up a 19-1 victory over Marquette Catholic. LHS celebrated Senior Night prior to the non-conference game at Newton Park. After strating picher Faith Mejer and the Lancer defense forced the visitors into a 1-2-3 first inning, LaVIlle pushed eight runs across the plate.  LHS used big, run-scoring, extra base hits by Mejer, Lauren Hobkirk, and Grace McBride to gain the advantage.  LaVille also utilized five walks and one hit batsman in the bottom of the first. LHS sent 15 batters to the plate, using five hits, two errors, and aggressive base running,  The uprising was highlighted by RBI doubles from Madi Geraghty and McBride, who collected her second twp-bagger of the game. Shortstop Lexis Owens and utility Mejer led the offense with three hits each.  Owens was on-base four times, scoring three runs.  Mejer had five RBI while also scoring three runs. Lead-off hitter McBride was on base three times, scoring two runs and drove in three runs. Mejer recorded the win in the circle, allowing no runs, no hits, one walk and four strikeouts.  Lauren Hobkirk and Savannah Wagner also got work on the mound. Coach McBride's crew improves to 2-2 overall and will travel to John Glenn on April 16 at 530pm.  It will be the Indiana Northern State Conference opener for the Lancers.
