LAKEVILLE - The baseball team picked up their first victory of the season, defeating Elkhart Christian Academy at Newton Park. Freshman Kyler Christy tossed six innings, walking three and striking out seven. He also cracked two hits, including a double and an RBI as LaVille earned a 5-2 win at Newton Park. Colton Schwitz closed up the seventh to earn the save for the LHS. After holding ECA scoreless in the first, Christy doubled to right field to knock in Andre Gonzales, who singled to start the game. Later, Christy scored on a pass ball to give the hosts the early 2-0 lead. Landon Swihart also added two hits, while Schwitz chipped in with an RBI for LaVille. LaVille (1-5) will travel to Bremen on April 20 for an INSC match up.
