FULTON - Class 2A #3 LaVille was able to get off to a fast start, then slow down the horses in a 36-6 Hoosier  North Athletic Conference high school football victory at Caston Friday. The Lakeville guests scored on their first three possessions of the game to jump to a 20-0 lead after one  quarter. Junior Cody Allen started the opening drive off, rushing three times for 44 yards, including the final eight  yards for a touchdown to get the running game going. Then, on the second drive, senior quarterback Lucas Plummer and a pair of his sure-handed receivers got the  aerial attack clicking.  Plummer found senior tight end Michael Good for nine yards.  On the next play,  Plummer connected with junior receiver Collin Czarnecki wide open along the left side line for a 21-yard  pitch and catch.  That 21-yard pass pushed Plummer past the career touchdown mark on his 35th touchdown  pass over the past four years, and a new school record for TD passes in a career. Plummer added the PAT to up the ante to 14-0. "Before that pass to Collin, we were talking about that route to (offensive coordinator) Justin Bogunia," said  Plummer about the play.  "I noticed that Collin was open and the cornerback had not gotten there yet.  So we  flipped the play to run it on the other side and he was wide open. It was not fully designed, but it was.  Coach  Bogunia said something and Collin was beating that corner all night." After LaVille forced a fumble by Caston, it took two plays before Plummer increased the margin to 20-0 after  he found Good for a short 1-yard TD pass. Plummer went on to toss another touchdown pass in the second quarter.  Once again Czarnecki was the  target from six yard out and Plummer booted the PAT to push the score to 30-0 at halftime. On the first series of the third quarter, LaVille started a 76-yard drive at their own 24. Allen bit off a nice chunk of real estate by sprinting for a 20-yard run.  Plummer then found Xzavian Lafave  for a 9-yard pick up to push the ball into Caston territory. A combination of a Plummer run (9 yards), Plummer to David Mitchell (9 yards) pass play, and Allen (4  yards) run set LaVille up at the Caston 22. Plummer then tossed his fourth TD pass of the game when he found Czarnecki for a 22-yard strike. Jeff Kaiser, LaVille's first-year head coach, emphasized how important it is to get a fast start. "Again getting a fast start is very crucial each week and having multiple guys score is definitely what we like  to see as we are getting everyone involved." During the game Plummer set a couple new passing records and tied another. Plummer's first touchdown pass to Czarnecki surpassed the 6'3" LaVille quarterback into the #1 spot on the  LaVille career touchdown passes board with 35.  The former record was held by Brenton Fish from 1993- 1996. The LaVille signal-caller also tied the record of touchdown passes in a game.  Plummer matched the four TDs  passing by Tony Yoder against Culver C0mmunity in 1987. "Lucas Plummer breaking the record for career passing touchdowns is just a tribute to his consistency up to  this point in his 4 year career," said Kaiser.  "That record has been here awhile and I know it means alot to  not only him, but his past and present teammates, his coaches and his parents.  Lucas should be proud but I  will say he wants more!" As a three-way player - offense, defense, and special teams - Plummer also broke the field goal record.  He hit  a 47-yard FG with 1:27 left in the second quarter against Caston to put LaVille on top, 30-0. The field goal broke the record held by former Lancer teammate and 2021 graduate Leyton Czarnecki, who  converted a 46-yard attempt. Plummer finished the game by going 12-of-17 for 196 yards, 4 touchdown passes, and 1 interception. Czarnecki was the leading receiver hauling down four passes for 90 yards and three TD receptions.  Michael  Good made four receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown. "Collin Czarnecki just continues to make plays on both sides of the ball on a weekly basis," Kaiser said of his  junior receiver.  "He is very smart on the field which puts him in a position to make plays.  Off the field he  takes in our weekly schemes and understands what needs to be done on Friday nights." Czarnecki also tied a school record for TD receptions in a single game with 3. A record that has held with four  other receivers since the 1982, 1985, and 1987 seasons. Kaiser is excited about the start of the season, as several players have stepped up to contribute. "We had several guys play a big part in what we want to do each week, and this week was no exception," said  Kaiser.  "Key guys that are making plays for us on the defensive side of the ball are Brandon Nettrouer,  Jonathan Neese, Braedyn Foster, Erik Bedock, Michael Good, Xzavian LaFave, Cody Allen, Josiah Cieseilski,  Lucas Plummer, David Mitchell, Brock Gest, Collin Czarnecki, and Eli Platz . . . others have had a role as  well." The Lancer defense continues to be tough, allowing just 10.2 points per game.  LaVille's defense is 19th  overall and 6th in Class 2A. Kaiser's crew is set for a big Hoosier North showdown against 3A #13 Knox on September 22.  The kick is  scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Lancer Field. This top 15 classic will also be homecoming for LaVille. Everyone is invited to attend a pre-game tailgate party at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot, just outside the  stadium. LaPaz Lions have donated hot dogs (until they run out). Parents will be pitching in side dishes. Please bring  your own drink and something to share if you can! Also, if you have games to share for everyone, bring that along too. "Hope to see everyone out for our big Homecoming Conference game this Friday vs. Knox!!" Following the victory, LaVille improves to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in HNAC play.  The Lancers lead Knox, who  enter Friday's game with a 3-0 mark in loop play, 5-0 overall.  * * * * * LAVILLE 36, CASTON 6 At Fulton Score By Quarters LaVille 20 10 6 0 - 36 Caston 0 0 0 6 - 6 Scoring Summary LV - Cody Allen 8 run; Lucas Plummer kick LV - Collin Czarnecki 21 pass from Plummer; Plummer kick LV - Michael Good 1 pass from Plummer; kick blocked LV - Plummer 47 FG LV - Czarnecki 6 pass from Plummer; Plummer kick LV - Czarnecki 22 pass from Plummer; kick blocked C - Kyle Roudebush 13 run; run failed                                      LV                 C First Downs                15                  9 Yards Rushing          148               138 Comp-Att-Int          13-18-1        1-16-0 Passing Yards          203                 11 Fumbles-Lost          3-0                3-0 Penalties-Yards      2-30             1-10 Punts-Avg                0-0               3-18
