LAKEVILLE - It's a football night in Lakeville! As we head into Week 6 of the Indiana High School football regular season, LaVille gets set for a crucial game against another state-ranked opponent. Knox pays a visit to Lancer Field for what is sure to be another thrilling night of Hoosier North Athletic Conference football. LaVille stands atop the HNAC standings at 4-0, while Knox checks in at 3-0 in loop play. Lancer Football has won the last two games in the series by a total of two points. In 2022, LHS escaped Community Field with a 21-20 victory. The 2021 encounter was just as exciting, as LaVille took a defensive-filled 7-6 decision in Lakeville. Through the first five weeks of the season, LaVille continues to remain consistent whoever they play. "We practice the same whether we are playing a program that is struggling or one that is solid," Kaiser when asked about practice sessions. "With that being said I feel we focus on consistency and when that is our focus day in and day out, our guys get it and never have that satisfied attitude. Always wanting more!!" The HNAC grind continues with LHS in the fifth consecutive week of conference games. "The HNAC is going to be extremely competitive week in and week out as always," explained Kaiser. "Concern we have for Knox is they know what they want to do and are good at it. We need to come out match that intensity, make plays consistently and bend but don't break. Believe in one another and play as a unit for 48 minutes." They have had tremendous success up to this point and believe in what they are doing. I think it's a combination of all 3 phases of the game and then limiting mistakes and turnovers. Knox will capitalize on your mistakes. So in order for us to be successful we will definitely have to limit turnovers, score points when we have the ball and win field position. Knox has a really really good running game in #2 McLaughlin and #5 Conroy. Both of these guys compliment one another in their style and then you throw in #9 their QB and they all 3 can give you fits. Upfront they are big and will try and out formation you with an unbalanced set. They look to ground and pound and eat clock as they do it. We must tackle well and get big stops constantly. Defensively they fly around and get to the football. They play physically and as a unit. Players to watch for them are their LB's #53 Risner, #24 Taylor and #2 McLaughlin. Upfront they are anchored by #68 Bolen and #45 Schwandt. Overall I am pleased with our overall balance on Offense, and on Defense I am pleased with several guys that are being involved in our scheme and making plays. Big opportunity awaits us Friday night and we are looking forward to an exciting night under those Friday night lights!!
