JUNIOR VARSITY FOOTBALL The junior varsity football team traveled to Knox for a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game. Brayden Schwitz ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as LaVille defeated the Redskins, 22-14. Avery Garrett was on the receiving end of a 15 yard TD pass from Schwitz. Schwitz also had TD runs of 35 and 20 yards. Chase Lee added two 2-point rushing conversions for the Lancers. LaVille's defense also forced four Knox turnovers, including three interceptions and a fumble. Garrett, Lee, and Riley Filley registered INTs, while Andre Gonzalez picked up a recovery. The JV football team will play host to John Glenn on October 2. Kick is set for 6 p.m. at Lancer Field. JUNIOR HIGH VOLLEYBALL The junior high volleyball team faced North Judson-San Pierre in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference match. LaVille fell 2-0 in the 7th Grade match, while the Lancers lost 2-0 in the 8th Grade match. Statistical leaders for the LaVille 7th Grade were Savannah Wagner in serving with 8 points (3 aces). Wagner also led in passing with 18 followed by Lily Conner and Bella Higley with 12 each. Wagner and Kenzie Foster each had 2 hits. The Lancers will play host to Argos on September 28. The seventh grade is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start, with the eighth grade to follow.
