There will be six teams in the 1A #35 Argos Sectional looking to advance to the regional round. "We're always happy to have the bye," said LaVille coach Brandon Shafer. "We will have to play a mistake-free game against Bremen. They are very talented and have several players who can put the ball in the net. "I believe we have one of the toughest sectionals in 1A. At one time 5 of the 6 teams were ranked inside the top 20 this season." Play is set to begin at 5 p.m. as #17 Argos (5-9-1) meets Culver Community (13-2-1). The second match will pit #7 Trinity Greenlawn (14-1) opposite Rochester (0-12). Tuesday's winners match up in the first semifinal at Argos beginning at 5 p.m. The Lancers and Lions will play a rematch of the August 17 regular season battle played at Newton Park. LaVille came away with a 2-1 victory. There will be 89 schools entered in the 2023 1A state tournament.  Argos is the defending sectional champion.
