LAKEVILLE - The boys soccer team returned to the pitch Tuesday for a conference match against Tippecanoe Valley. After pre-match heavy rain, both teams battle through times of soggy conditions before a weather delay came at just under 18:00 on the first half clock. Early in the match, Jamison Norman was able to find Hudson Rush off a corner kick for the first tally and Lancer 1-0 lead. Then came thunder and lightning that placed the match on hold for nearly 45 minutes. When the all-clear was called, the teams returned to the field for the final 17:44 left on the clock. LHS continued to lead 1-0. After a short halftime, the two teams returned to the field and Coach Keith Norman's crew found the net two more times. Kadu Tostes was on the receiving end of another pass from Jamison Norman in the 43rd minute. About 10 minutes later Norman collected his own goal for what ended up being the final margin. Norman's club picked up the 3-0 victory with about 20 minutes remaining after more severe weather called the match for safety of all those involved. The LaVille defense remained strong, allowing just two shots on goal for the match and zero in the second half. Kyler Christy worked in goal to help LHS record its fifth shutout of the seaso so far. After back-to-back matches to begin the week, LaVille will return to the pitch on September 19 to take on Bethany Christian. The match is set for Newton Park and kicks at 1:00 PM.
