BOYS BOWLING SOUTH BEND - Hayden Grindle led the LaVille boys bowling team to an 11-9 victory over South Bend Riley at Chippewa Bowl. After the WIldcats won the first game, Grindle and his Lancer teammates fought back in the second game. Grindle led the way with a team-best 209. Lowell Heminger added a 192 and Chase Schmidt followed with a 177. LaVille bounced back with a team score of 900 pins to outdistance South Bend Riley at 731. The strong second game helped LaVille rally for the overall team victory. LaVille returns to action on November 4 and 5 at Country Lanes in Rochester, IN. On November 4, the Lancers will meet South Bend Adams at 3 p.m. Then on November 5, LaVille faces Plymouth at 5 p.m. GIRLS BOWLING SOUTH BEND - The girls bowling team faced South Bend Riley at Chippewa Bowl in a Michiana West Conference match. A second-game rally by LaVille picked up valuable points, but the Wildcats snuck away with a 14.5-5.5 win. After picking up 1.5 team points in the first game, Brooklyn Smith led the charge for LaVille in the second game. Smith came up with a 128, while Jaedyn Shaw, Allison Easterday, and Christian Bau added crucial individual victories. LaVille gets back in action on November 4 and 5 at Country Lanes in Rochester, IN. The Michiana West Conference will bowl a position round on November 4, before a conference match against New Prairie on November 5.
