LAKEVILLE - LaVille Lady Hoops returns to the court following Thanksgiving break. The Lancers (2-4) play host to Mishawaka (6-1) in a non-conference game at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium on November 28. Junior varsity game is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m., with the varsity to start at approximately 7:30 p.m. Following a 50-47 upset loss at Oregon-Davis, the Cavemen return to the floor for the first time in a week. MHS is averaging 49.4 points per game and are 3-0 when scoring 49 points or more this season. LaVille enters the 12th game in this series since 2000-01 trailing Mishawaka, 7-4. With just one victory in four attempts for the Lancers at the 'Cox Box', there is motivation for this team to defend its home court. LaVille last won 42-41 in overtime on January 23, 2007, in the friendly confines. LHS was on the winning end of a 27-24 affair prior to the holiday break. The Lancers engaged in a defensive showdown with Elkhart Christian Academy before two free throws by senior Lily Smith gave LaVille the three-point lead late in the game. Smith's defense then forced the Eagles into a deep 3-point attempt that grazed off the front of the rim to help secure the victory. The Lancers average 34.5 points per outing and are 1-3 when scoring at least 34 points. On the defensive side, LaVille allows 41.3 ppg.
