Today is Thursday, September 1, 2022 . . . Several athletic teams return to competition today. BOYS SOCCER Returns to the pitch against Northern Indiana Conference foe South Bend Clay. LaVille is 0-3-1 overall and coming off a 6-0 loss to Argos on August 30. Clay is 0-1 following a 10-1 loss at New Prairie on August 31. The Clay-LaVille match is scheduled for Newton Park and will kick at 5 p.m. JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY Will be hosting the 12-team LaVille Invitational. The event takes place on the north side of campus, with runners touring beside the practice football field, into the woods, beside the baseball field and tennis courts. The first race is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. GIRLS SOCCER Is set to travel to Plymouth for a non-conference match. LaVille is 0-3-1 and coming off a tough 3-2 loss against Mishawaka on August 30. Plymouth is 1-2-1 overall following a 5-0 loss at South Bend Adams on August 25. The LaVille-Plymouth match is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. VOLLEYBALL Is back to the friendly confines of Dale E. Cox Gymnasium against Argos. LaVille last played at home on August 17 and have played nine matches on the road since that date. The Lancers are 5-10 overall following a 3-1 loss at Plymouth on August 31. Argos is 0-4 overall after a 3-0 loss at Lakeland Christian Academy on August 26. The Argos-LaVille junior varsity match is scheduled to serve at 6 p.m., with the varsity match to follow.
