SHERIDAN - LaVille girls basketball coach Nicholas Amor will be coaching in the Indiana Elite North-South Showcase on March 10 at Sheridan High School. Lancer sophomore Ava Weil is scheduled to participate this weekend. Over the last two seasons, Amor has led LaVille Lady Hoops to a 31-19 overall record, a 2023 Everwise Bi-County basketball tournament championship, and a 2024 Indiana High School Athletic Association 2A sectional title. "I think it's a great opportunity for recognition," said Amor.  "I am very grateful for it and looking forward to getting to coach a group from all over the state." According to Amor, there will be several games during the showcase event. "My understanding is the games are split by class sizes and ages," said the LaVille boss. "There is a sophomore-junior game and a senior game in each respective class size. The larger classes play Saturday and the smaller classes play Sunday." Amor indicated that he would be coaching in a pair of games at The 13th annual Indiana Elite North v. South Showcase.  His team will play at 3:30 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.  Indiana Elite North vs. South is a Midwest based college showcase organization that gives high school athletes the opportunity to network with college coaches across the Midwest. Each registered athlete competes with others from a similar school size and grade level. The showcase is a pay to play event for the participants. The organization indicates that they stay updated and informed with the constant changes that surround Midwest high school basketball, golf, soccer, softball, and volleyball.Additionally, the organization communicates that events are programmed with a great amount of input and feedback from head coaches from every corner of the Midwest. Finally, they add that they network with college coaches from Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin for each showcase, according to their website.
