ARGOS - Led by the offense of Karson Quinn and the pitching of Andrew Wolford and Lucas Plummer, LaVille defeated Argos, 16-0, in the high school baseball opener Friday at Argos. Quinn was solid at the plate, with four hits, all doubles, and eight runs batted in before giving way to Izzy Miller for the final inning behind the dish. On the mound, starting pitcher Andrew Wolford tossed three innings of no-hit ball, zero earned runs, one walks, and eight strikeouts to earn the victory.  Lucas Plummer came on for the final two innings, allowing no hits, zero earned runs, no walks and five Ks.  Quinn helped LaVille get on the scoreboard first, cracking his first double of the game to score Plummer and Collin Czarnecki in the top of the first inning. In the Lancer third inning, Quinn came through again, smacking a three RBI double to increase the lead to 5-0. Coach Brian Lawler's club broke the game open with a 10-run fourth. Quinn put the final touches on his eight RBI game with a pair of doubles as LHS sent 15 batters to the plate.  LaVille collected 10 hits in the inning, highlighted by a triple from Plummer.  Wolford and Brayden Schwitz also collected two-baggers. Plummer closed the game by striking out the side in the bottom of the fifth inning as Lawler's crew won the game via the 10-run rule. "It was a good first game of the season for us," said Lawler.  "The pitching was solid with only one walk and 13 Ks between Wolford, the starter, and Plummer.  Karson Quinn had a great day at plate with 4 hits and 8 RBIs."
