LAKEVILLE - LaVille's Karson Quinn drove in four runs on two hits, including a home run, but it wasn't enough as the Lancers fell to visiting Bremen, 21-9, on a great night for high school baseball. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, following a 2-run double by Aden Hunziker. BHS scored a couple more runs off bases loaded walks and a Lancer error to take a 5-0 lead. LaVille scored a run in the bottom of the first to narrow the Lion lead to, 5-1. Both teams scored again in the second inning as Bremen took a 7-2 advantage. In the bottom of the third inning, Karson Quinn smacked a solo home run to center field for LaVille. Bremen tacked on four more runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to increase its margin to 17-3. But coach Brian Lawler's Lancers string together five straight hits, including a 2-run double by Quinn to close the gap to 17-9. BHS added four more in the top of the sixth and LaVille was unable to score in the bottom of the frame for the final margin. Hunziker earned the pitching win for Bremen. The reliever allowed six hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking four. Collin Czarnecki took the loss on the bump for LHS, surrendering five runs (four earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking four. Brayden Foster led the LaVille on-base percentage with three walks. Lawler's club earned 10 walks in the game. Next up for LaVille will be a short trek to Plymouth April 11.
