Lancer Pitching Trio Scatters Three Hits; Plummer's Offense Key In Win Over BC

LAKEVILLE - The baseball team played host to Bethany Christian in a non-conference game at the friendly confines of Lancer Field. It was a pitchers battle, with fairly clean defense, LaVille was able to scatter five hits to pick up a 6-1 victory over the Bruins. Lead-off man Lucas Plummer led the offense, going 3-for-3, a triple, 2 runs batted in, 2 runs scored, and three stolen bases. On the bump, a trio of LHS pitchers combined to hold Bethany to one earned run in the top of the fourth and seven combined strikeouts. Andre Gonzales tossed the opening three-and-a-third innings and one earned run.  He struck out four batters.  Collin Czarnecki came on in middle relief from the 4th through the 6th, allowing two hits and no earned runs.  Andrew Wolford pitched the 7th to close out the game with a 1-2-3 inning. Other hits for LaVille were a double by Brayden Schwitz, a single by Braedyn Foster, and a couple more singles by Plummer. LaVille improved to 4-3 overall and are headed for a Hoosier North Athletic Conference doubleheader with Pioneer.
