LAKEVILLE - As the 2024 Hoosier North Athletic baseball season winds down, Triton and LaVille played two important conference games Tuesday at Newton Park. In the opener, the Trojans found offense early, then again late to post a 10-0 victory over the homestanding Lancers.0 Drew Bingamon was the winning pitcher for Triton, striking out 14 LaVille batters and holding LHS to two hits for the complete game victory. Lucas Plummer suffered the loss, working six innings, giving up eight hits, four earned runs, four walks, and six strikeouts. Brayden Schwitz and Xavian LaFave had hits for the Lancers. In the nightcap, LaVille got on the board first, scoring four runs to open the game. Two singles, a walk, a dropped third strike, and a fielder's choice led to a 4-0 Lancer lead. Later, leading 7-3, coach Brian Lawler's club erupted for five runs in the top of the 5th inning. Three hits and three hit batsmen helped LaVille increase its lead to 12-3. Lawler's crew sent 10 batters to the plate in the top of the 7th inning, adding four insurance runs. The Lancers benefitted from three walks, two singles, two hit batsmen, and an error to close the scoring. Wolford and LaFave collected two hits each as LHS finished with 10 hits overall. Lafave, Sean Kubsch, and Collin Czarnecki knocked in two RBIs each. Brayden Schwitz got the pitching win, tossing three and tw0-thirds, giving up four hits, one earned run, four walks, and four strikeouts. Wolford came on to throw the final three and one-third, fanning seven, with no earned runs and no walks. LaVille improved to 14-7 overall and 10-3 in the Hoosier North, maintaining a half-game lead over Caston.
