WESTVILLE - Getting off to a good start is always at the top of a coach's priority list. After approximately a 50-minute bus ride, LaVille showed that they were, indeed, ready to get things going. The Lancers scored three goals in the first four minutes of the match and rolled to a 7-0 lead by halftime. Macie Edwards found Mikalah Kuskye in the first minute to get LHS on the board. Two minutes later, Edwards found the net off an assist by Mackena Deason to give the Lakeville visitors a 2-0 lead. Then, in the fourth minute, Edwards connected to the back of the net for a quick 3-0 advantage. Coach Kevin Christy's club spent much of the first half on Westville's side and scored four more goals, this time by Deason, to close the first half in total control. Overall, LaVille took 23 shots and finished with a 10-1 victory. Deason led the way with five goals. Kuskye added the hat trick and Edwards two goals. LaVille (1-0) continues its four-match road start at Tippecanoe Valley on August 29.
