Volleyball Falls In 4 At Washington; JV Improves To 5-0

SOUTH BEND - The high school volleyball team traveled to South Bend Washington for a non-conference match. In the varsity match, the Lancers and Panthers split the first two sets, before Washington picked up a 3-1 victory. Faith Mejer and Madi Singleton led the defense, digging up 7 and 6 balls, respectively. Ragen Wagoner led with 3 blocks. Singleton also led with 4 aces and was one of a trio of attackers with 3 kills.  Mejer and Moriah Richhart also added 3 kills. The JV volleyball team improved to 5-0 on the season after a 2-0 victory of the Panthers. Lorelai Carey led the service game with 5 aces and 3 blocks. Lily Voss had 4 kills, Sarah Tharp 4 digs, and Avery Lee 9 assists and 4 digs. LaVille (3-6) returns to the court for its third match in as many days, playing host to South Bend Riley on August 28.  The junior varsity match will serve at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity match.
