ALBION - Over the first couple of weeks of the 2024 high school football season, LaVille has faced run-heavy offenses, with minimal passing. As LaVille head coach Jeff Kaiser prepared his team for its week three opponent, the Lancers are set to face a completely different offense as the air attack of Central Noble becomes the next challenge. "Central Noble is a pass heavy team which is going to test our secondary," said the second year Lancer boss.  "We must recognize formations for us to play proper coverages.  We must score points and create big plays in order to come away with the victory." Last week, LaVille faced a North Judson-San Pierre that claimed nearly 300 yards of real estate, including a pair of 100+ yard rushers. The Lancers forced three Bluejay turnovers, but the LHS offense was unable to get the ball in the end zone. "In order to beat a good team we must end drives with points, especially once we get in the red zone," said Kaiser. "I felt we played better as a team and did some things we weren't able to do in week 1. Things we focused on through the week at practice transitioned to the game field.  The difference in (the North Judson) game was we did not capitalize on turnovers we forced. In order to beat a good team we must end drives with points, especially once we get in the red zone." LHS will take an 0-2 record into its visit to Albion, IN., and face off against an 0-2 Central Noble team that averages a little over 9 yards per catch and has thrown 50 passes.  Senior Brody Morgan has completed 56% of his passes and has not yet thrown an interception. "They are not afraid to get the ball in the air," explained Kaiser. "... probably throw the ball 30-40 times and they run an offense that probably is 30-70 on run to pass so we'll have to mix coverages, get some QB pressure, and finish drives with points to come away with a win." Junior Damyan Duncan is the leading rusher so far, averaging 1.8 yards per carry. Junior Conner Fish is the top receiving target for Morgan, catching nine balls for 80 yards and a touchdown. This will be just the third meeting between LaVille and Central Noble.  The Lancers own a 2-0 advantage in the series , including a 14-0 victory in 2014. Kaiser's club is looking to avoid an 0-3 start after going 11-2 in his first season.  The last time LaVille started 0-3 was in the 2011 season under Mark Reddy.
