KNOX - The varsity volleyball team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Knox in a Indiana Northern State Conference match. Using a 25-17 win in set three, LaVille was able to shift the momentum into set four. LHS pulled off a 25-19 victory in set four to tie the match at 2-2, heading into the final set. Coach Pat Gring's club fought off the Redskins and closed out a 15-10 come-from-behind effort. Olivia Markin, Madi Singleton, and Faith Mejer led a scrappy defense with nearly 40 digs. At the net, Marin, Ragen Wagoner, and Reagan Bollenbacher were clutch with crucial attacks, while Wagoner led the service game with three aces. LaVille improved to 5-8 overall and evened its INSC record at 1-1. Knox falls to 1-11 overall and 0-2 in the INSC. With the new home-and-home series for volleyball, the Redskins visit Lakeville on September 26. The junior varsity is set for a 6 p.m. start, with the varsity to follow. In the JV match, LaVille improved to 7-2 overall following a 2-1 victory over Knox. LaVille returns to action on September 11 at Triton. JV is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start followed by the varsity.
